Crow Corporation Case Study #1

Challenge: A large energy services company was having difficulty acquiring control panel faces for their field testing units. It was taking 6 to 8 weeks using multiple vendors to get a panel completed. The delays, combined with the expense of shipping it from vendor to vendor was disrupting their deliveries, making the units more expensive to produce and damaging their reputation in the industry.

Solution: By taking advantage of Crow’s variety of in-house services and keeping all operations under one roof, Crow was able to cut lead times from 6 to 8 weeks to 3 days to 5 days. Once they saw the speed and quality of the panels that were produced, Crow began producing the entire enclosure, in addition to the control panels, creating even further efficiencies.

Bottom Line: The solution allowed the customer to issue one P.O. for the whole job, cutting down on paperwork and shipping costs. It also allowed them to speed up their supply-chain, meet delivery dates in a timelier manner, and become more profitable by lowering the total production cost of the units. As a result, their reputation as an industry leader was enhanced.
